Needed: A candle, a source of flame, a safe spot where the candle could fall in any direction and still have no chance to start a fire, an empty room with no draft and some peace and quiet.

Once you are given a quite time you can set the candle where it will be safe, then light it...Go across the room and find a meditative position you can rest in. NOT SLEEP, REST! My normal position is laying down on my back. Most people seem to prefer dark rooms.

Now once you have acquired your best position or found a suitable one, take a few moments to relax and maybe refocus your energies... then look carefully at the flame... study it and it's motions briefly... once you have a fair idea of it then you can procede to the next part.

Study the feel of the flame from across the room. Now if you can sense a rough idea of it's energies then try to make them grow or shrink acording to what you feel like trying. If not then try to manipulate it by it's shape.

If you don't have instant results than don't worry. Very few people will be able to control a flame easily on their first try. Either way continue this for the next 5-45 min. depending on your patience and free time. If you do start gettign results than don't get excited. That is a green mistake, because it may make you loose control. Stay calm and celebrate any successes later.

Once you are done, if you notice any kind of strain or stress from over working, try to take a few min. relaxing but not being focused and don't try anything else for a while or untill a fair while after you feel better. If you are low on energy after that then you may want to wait till tommorow to try anything else. It is better to go slow than go fast and cause yourself too much strain.
